Comm 3470 - Interactive Digital Media, Spring 2022
The objective of this project was to make a 1:30 long music video using Adobe Premier. The entirety of this project was filmed over one weekend, and most of the footage was improvised because the talent was largely uncooperative. She also stole my lunch on the first day of filming.
Remote Learning Pandemic Edition
Comm 2250 - Introduction to Film and Video, Fall 2021.
This project was a disaster behind the scenes. We lost at least half of our work time on this film due to the group forming late, and we lost the only day where the whole group was available to shoot to a faulty XLR cable. Our choice to deal with remote learning was born out of necessity, since would not get another chance to have our whole cast in one place. Tyler Hyong, our writer, co-director, and all around savior of the project, wrote the original script in about a week, and rewrote it for the new setting in a day.

This is my favorite of the student films I’ve worked on, despite the how rough the lighting and audio can get in some parts. This was also written by Tyler, but edited almost entirely by me.
Awkward Silence
High School, Spring 2017
I did not initially plan on including this in the portfolio, but I saw it in my files and just couldn’t resist. This was a group project in my video production and broadcast class in my senior year. This class is really special to me, since it was the first time I took digital media seriously as a field I would like to work in. If not for this class, I would probably have a degree in computer science instead of digital media.

This video, and the others from this project that follow, might be my favorite portfolio piece(s). Despite this being my third Teams class, I played mostly a supportive roll in this project. I was mostly in charge of adjusting the scripts the client gave us for this project, but I also helped out where I could with the during filming. The best part of this project was watching all the incredibly talented people in this group absolutely nail everything we set out to do.

This video was a pretty easy one for me, all I did was adjust the script like before and help record the voice-over. The awesome animations were all made by one group member, Jay Murphy, and I still cannot believe he pulled it all off in such a short time.
Enigma 2 Machine

This video was the only one I did not help with filming, since I started to feel sick on the day of the shoot. That said, I still worked on the script, and wrote more original material for this one than the others since the original script client provided was a bit too short for this format.

This was the final video we produced as part of this project, and this time we got to work directly with Mr. Russel himself. We even got a small tour of the National Cybersecurity Center during filming!
